The contemporary world is in a constant process of ideological and political changes which affect people’s health. The theme of the conference reflects the current different aspects of transition in health promotion, for example:
- the transition from public to private services - transition in the health panorama - transition at local as well as at national level.
The Nordic School of Public Health (NHV) and the Nordic Research Network for Health Promotion invited researchers, doctoral students and other professionals from the Nordic countries as well as from other parts of Europe and from around the world to join the conference and to present abstracts (orally and as posters) on the theme, to discuss and be part of the work aimed at providing equity in health.
The conference was organized with four different kinds of sessions:
- Plenary sessions with special invited speakers
- Oral sessions within specific topics with a chair person
- Chaired poster sessions
- Workshops
